The simple sentence, “Yes, Lord.” should be the most used one in a Christian’s vocabulary. It is a response of love and faith. It makes His interests above our own. “Yes, Lord.” is a response of obedience and commitment. It acknowledges that He is first in our lives. In fact, if we call Him Lord, we must say “yes” to Him. “No, Lord” is self-contradicting. If we aren’t willing to obey, then He is something less than Lord to us.
“Yes, Lord” is the vocabulary of heaven. We would be wise to learn that language here.
Psalm 37:5-6—“Commit your way to the Lord; trust in Him and He will do this: He will make your righteousness shine like the dawn, the justice of your cause like the noonday sun.”
